Pre National Day- Hiking

So for national day, we decided not to go to Beijing and do some closer or local excursions. Monday, we set out at 7am to Yichang (about the distance from NY to NJ/CT border). Got there close to 9am, went shopping, especially for DVDs and my camera. Mission accomplished. One of the students invited us to hike a mountain, so we met her at noon, went to a dumpling place, had like 6 different kinds of dumplings and noodles- everything for 4 people came to 20RMB! Walked across the bridge and stopped to rest for a bit

Then after walking like 100 hrs, the student says "I thought it was closer because we usually take the bus" What!!!? There was a bus that comes all the way here! Dude I'm tired and we haven't even gotten to the mountain yet!

Dude, its a far way up!
We finally get there and its well worth it....view of the city and pic of Mary Beth and I The student, Alexa and I

Jenn and I, sweating like crazy!
View... Yangtze River and some buildings...who knows- I can guess if you want...

Yes! We made it!
