Caves

Agenda: meet 2 students; take them out to lunch and go to the caves- the rain was falling so Mary, Jenn and I decided not to go; we told the students and they really wanted to go so we went EVEN though it was raining and caves are generally slippery :)

Favor: one of the students mother offered to take us there which was a real blessing considering the rain and the distance; she then decided to join us- so 6 of us went- and she paid for all of our tickets. We tried to pay but she just ignored us..what can I say that's the favor.....
Welcome!
Jenn on the bridge
THe students: Liz and Anna- peace signs are very common
Liz's mom throwing up the peace sign too (two- no pun intended lol)

K, plan A: climb up and take a pic leaning on the cave
PLan B: after falling, just sit there and smile :)
So if I look defeated, dejected and... I can't find another "D" word, its because I just fell and I am lol...see all that wet part...extremely slippery..the tour guide was so afraid lol...that would not be good for China lol
OK finally got to the cave; because hiking for 2 days wasn't enough- we had to hike up a mountain to get to the cave..but look at the beauty! Its green and purple but my camera didn't capture the full beauty

Be very afraid...
OK then you have to climb down 198 rinky dink stairs (I don't know why they didn't just make it 200, don't ask) BUT you have to climb down backwads as you would an actual ladder with cold water gushing on the sides- oh and further down its metal in between the metal stairs there are thin bars!

Then you have to get on a boat whch was a really nice ride over

And if you like, you can go worship, some monks approached us but Mary told them we were Chr istians and did not believe in that so they sat down and just asked us general questions about our background

Then they decided we needed to take a picture with them - they took it with our camera but I asked the tour guide to take one as well..obviously we were not ready as yet..well Jenn and I were

Then we got bored and pretended to take "candid" shots
and more- because people really just stand and smile for no reason
Random cute kid
OK now here are some animals, use your imagination if your eyesight is bad lol...I promise you can see it, I didn't believe it either at first..
Can you guess what they are?
So that was a pig, the really dark piece is the snout

Thisis a bird, kinda like a phoenix- now I know that doesn't help being a mythical creature and all
So this one -the tour guide said, if you stand in the cave and look to the light it will appear like a dog, at this point I thought she was buggin but after taking the pic you can really see the outline of a dog! Man I'm a believer- I saw elephants and rhinos but my friends said I was buggin :)

And the we left...
