Harlem has so much soul!
Kristen and Christina came to meet me for brunch...what a great conversation and uplifting time!

Then I had to go to Brooklyn for my niece's bday party. I was on the train thinking how long its taking me to get there considering I had to be back in Manhattan in 2 hours! I had to make a decision-- in 5 mins, 5 mths or 5 years- is it going to matter more that I spent 2 hours on a train or missed my niece's bday party? When I walked into the park, two of my nieces bolted towards me- one jumped on me and the other grabbed my side and hugged me. The answer was pretty clear- I am so happy that I made it there! It was so worth it for that! Then my youngest niece spotted the comotion and when she realized I was there, she ran over too and hugged me... oh the joys of life!
My sister, Kaddie

One of my nieces, Adia- bday girl

Kaddie's mother, mother in law and daughter, Adia

So I'm not quite sure who this little boy is or who his parents are BUT I know we have mutual love for each other! He saw me and he just had the ill screwface so I bent down, made fists and a noise like Hulk or some other big ugly monster and made up my face and he smiled and came over to me... and the rest was history. When I was leaving, I hugged and kissed all my nieces and he came over and stood so I kneeled and he kissed me!

Left the party with just enough time to get dressed, drove downtown Brooklyn; Melissa went to meet her husband, I left for church. Hopped on the train- got to church in perfect timing.
After church, went to the Children's Ministry, hung out for a bit, then went to Red Mango with Raven, Shola and Meena. Hung out til close to 11 then I went back home.
