This is in my city Yichang but many residents were uprooted during the building (which is a bigger problem because people don't own land, they own buildings- so take your building and put it somewhere else, we own this land!)

The largest city in the province of Hubei is Wuhan, about 5 hours away by bus/train or 70 mins by plane. We took the bus there to hang out for the weekend, had such a great time. For Easter, we sang a Chinese song in church, while three girls danced to it. Then we went to another to city to celebrate with some of our American friends.

I went to get a massage on Wednesday as well but at a different location, these people are blind and give the best deep tissue massages ever! Anyways I went and one of the guys started telling me how they got a new computer but the programming is in English! Isn't that terrible? So I asked my chinese friend to go with me to help them translate the necessary programs or switch it to Chinese at least. They are so sweet.
WAYN blitz
I decided to check out WAYN, I wanted to skip the section where you send an invite to all your friends but I accidentally checked the wrong box so it sent an email to all of my friends. My apologies, its very annoying. I was at my friends house and she was like "why'd you send me an email" I was like I didn't then I realized that there are periodic reminders that "come from me"- don't sign up. I don't even plan to use it....Sorry
I went to a curtain shop to buy new curtains. I explained to the salesperson what I wanted and she started working on it. 2 men came into the store asked Mary and I in Chinese "if I speak to you will you understand?" Now come on Sir, I guess your answer will be very clear depending on whether we respond. So Mary said "yes, we understand" He then said to the salesperson, "do they understand Chinese" and she said "yes"-- all in Chinese...
Man 1: No, they don't understand, they cant speak any Chinese
Saleswoman: they understand and speak very well, They are the Foreign Language School teachers (Man 2 and 3 arrive)
Man 2: Are these the Foreign language school teachers?
Man 1: No they are students and they don't understand anything you are saying
Mary: how long will this take, should we come back later?
Salesperson: no, I can get it done very quickly, you can wait
Man 3: OH they can speak Chinese! Why doesn't the school get curtains for them?
Man 2: Nope, they are students and don't understand one word! (the salesperson offers me some free service)
Rose: thank you very much
Man 1: Wow, her chinese is good!
Man 2: How can they teach Chinese if they dont understand Chinese?
Saleswoman (obviously very embarrassed): They teach English!
Man 1: They are Foreign teachers and are professional Chinese speakers
All this time Mary and I are just laughing and since they thought we couldnt understand anyways, whenever they asked a question we would just laugh and talk to each other in English. This is what I go through very frequently. Sheer bliss
